Nothing is uploaded, nothing goes through a processing server; your account is there to check your subscription and devices, not to store your documents. Protect a document with a password (AES-256 encryption), strip its metadata, add a watermark: it all happens on your machine, on Windows, macOS or Android.
THE CLIENT FILE
A client file is a pile of loose pieces: quote, contract, supporting documents, appendices. On desktop, PDF Protect Plus assembles them in order, adds a cover page in your colors, a clickable table of contents, section dividers and page numbers, then compresses and protects the whole thing. You send one clean file your client opens with the password you give them.

Processing happens in the app, on your device. Our servers handle your account, your subscription and your devices; they never receive your documents.
The account is there to check your subscription and keep track of your devices. No document passes through it or is stored there. A connection is needed for that check; after that, the app works offline for up to 14 days.
No. No card is needed to start. At the end of the 7 days, the app switches to read-only mode and you decide whether to choose a plan.
